Willmer "Moot" Roberts

Willmer “Moot” Roberts, 82, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away on July 25, 2025. Born on April 24, 1943, in Tuttle to Ernest and Lillie Roberts, Moot was a lifelong resident who proudly called this community home.

Known to nearly everyone as “Moot”—a nickname whose origin remains a mystery—he lived a life marked by humility, hard work, and a deep love for family, friends, and the simple pleasures in life.

Moot honorably served his country in the Army Reserve with the 95th Infantry Division from 1964 to 1969, attaining the rank of Specialist 6.

Throughout his life, Moot held many jobs in the farming and construction industries. He worked as a driver for the Mid-Continent Farmers Group Co-op, Tuttle and Blanchard Lumber, and the Dolese sand plant. Perhaps most notably, he could be found behind the wheel of a tractor, working countless acres for farmers throughout the Tuttle area—an experience he loved to talk about and never grew tired of sharing.

In his free time, Moot enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars and motorcycles, and simply spending time with those he loved. Whether telling stories, sharing a laugh, or just enjoying the company of others, he brought warmth and authenticity wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; son, Clint and his wife Kelly; step-sons, Jerry, Tony, Danny, Steve, and Kevin. He was a proud grandfather to Drake, John, Tyler, Lacey, Jennifer, Taylor, Tanner, Summer, Shawn, and Kris. He is also survived by his siblings, Loretta, Annabelle, and Raymond, along with a large extended family and many dear friends.

Moot was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lillie Roberts; and siblings Leah Garrett, Ernestean Warden, Edward Roberts, and Linda Pearl Conner.

Willmer “Moot” Roberts will be remembered for his loyal heart, his love of hard work, and his unmatched ability to talk tractors with just about anyone. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched and in the fields he helped till.
