Wayland "Scott" Jensen left his Earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 30, 2021 after a courageous battle with ALS at the age of 70 years 8 months and 9 days. Scott was born October 21, 1950 in Gilmer Texas to Edna (Bell) and Ellis Gordon Jensen. Scott was raised and attended school in Oklahoma City where he graduated from US Grant High School in 1968.
Scott was patriotic to the core and served in the United States Army National Guard in the military police unit for many years. He also attended Central State College one year before going through the Sheet Metal apprenticeship program. Following, he worked out of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #124. In addition, Scott served as a Deputy Sheriff in Cleveland County and Oklahoma County and was a Reserve Deputy for Oklahoma County for over 20 years. Scott was a member of Myrtle Lodge #145 and the Guthrie Scottish Rite.
He met Debbie Hiti while attending Coolidge Elementary and the two became sweethearts. They dated throughout high school and were married June 25, 1971 in Oklahoma City. Scott and Debbie were blessed with two daughters Heather Nicole and Courtney Renee who were their world. It was Scott's desire for he and Debbie to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 25th and his wish was granted with friends and family sending over 300 celebratory cards.
His hobbies were being Debbie's Chauffeur, reading and golf, however his biggest and most enjoyed hobby was spending time with his four grandchildren. He and Debbie never missed an event from dance recitals to sporting events.
