Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steven James Rawlings, at the age of 57, in Tuttle, Oklahoma, on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026.

Steve was born in Oklahoma City on February 23, 1969, and was raised with his brother, Stacy Stookey. He and his brother ran amok together for several years, being raised by a few family members, including grandparents James and Naomi Rawlings, and their uncles Kenny and Jerry Boyd. Steven often shared many fond memories of his childhood with his kids and friends, including stories of riding his bike everywhere and playing on his family's acreage, that he lovingly nicknamed the ‘Hundred Acre Woods’.

Steve attended Southeast Middle School in Oklahoma City, then U.S. Grant High School, before postponing his education to start a professional career. He began learning Drywall Installation from his uncle Tom around the age of 16. That same year, he bought his beloved 67’ Malibu. Steve continued in the Drywall and Texture Works industry for the rest of his life, under his own name, ‘Rawlings Drywall & Texture Works’. Steve never met a stranger and had a number of beloved friends that he met while working.

Steve loved spending time outdoors. In his younger years, Steve would often take his boat with him on weekdays, so that after a hard day's work, he could go to the lake and cast lines. Most weekends, the Rawlings family could be found boating on various lakes, tubing, fishing, and swimming. He also enjoyed hunting, both with a bow and rifle. Steve played the guitar his entire life and shared loving memories of jamming with his friends. He shared his love of music with all of his kids, who each play at least one instrument and can carry a tune.

Steve was a dedicated and loving father who never missed a single moment of his children’s lives. He is survived by; his oldest daughter, Christina Roberts - his second oldest daughter, her husband, and her son Macy Ferguson, Corey Ferguson, Kai Ferguson - his third daughter, Malisa Rawlings - his youngest son, and his wife Johnathan Rawlings, Jadelynn Rawlings - brothers and sisters Stacy Stookey, Christopher Rawlings, Angela Rawlings, April Rawlings, Tracy Ross - and Aunts and Uncles Mike Rawlings, Connie Holt, Tom Rawlings, Wanda Warden, Gary Rawlings, Brenda Havenar, and several more Rawlings family members.

He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Jacob Rawlings; his father, Steven Rawlings; his mother, Kathy Stookey Mabrey; and his grandparents, James and Naomi Rawlings. He will be greatly missed by all he knew. We will be holding an informal celebration of life for him at Tribute Memorial Care, in Tuttle, OK, on Friday, May 15th, at 4:00 P.M.
