Richard Deane Berry

December 19, 1984 — November 27, 2025

Tuttle, OK

Richard Deane Berry, 40, of Newcastle, Oklahoma, showed unwavering courage as he battled to the very end before leaving this world on November 27, 2025, in Newcastle, OK.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 19, 1984, Deane lived a life marked by humor, heart, and an unshakable sense of calm. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend—someone who made every room lighter with his presence and every challenge seem a little less daunting.

Deane is survived by his devoted wife, Jessica, and their four children: Ellie (11), Bennett (9), Vivienne (6), and Piper (3). He also leaves behind his parents, Tim and Cathy Boehrer of Newcastle; Jessica’s parents, Tony and Kim Hartson of Oklahoma City; and his siblings, Bill (Tiffany) Kinser, of Guthrie; Crystal (Erin Ogee) Glass, of Choctaw; Chris (Shannon) Kinser, of Brighton, Michigan; and Hope (Jeremiah) Wooten, of Newcastle. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; JT and Geneva McCracken, of Moore; Joe and Joan Boehrer, of Norman; and Danielle Woosley, of Paducah, KY.

The fourth of five siblings, the family moved to Oklahoma in 1987 when Deane was two. He grew up in the Western Heights School District, where he formed lifelong friendships rooted in mischief, loyalty, and laughter. If one friend didn’t think of it, another did—and Deane was always game. He approached life with fearless enthusiasm, embracing every dare and adventure with a grin and a glint in his eye. It’s a wonder he lived to tell the tales of his youth—but oh, how he told them.

After high school, Deane earned his HVAC journeyman license and joined Sheet Metal Workers Local 124, where he worked for 17 years before launching his own business, RDB Improvements. He could build or remodel anything, and he did it with skill, pride, and a craftsman’s heart.

Deane wanted the best of everything, and that included his forever love. So, on May 14, 2011 Deane married Jessica Lindsay Hartson. Deane and Jessica bought their home in Forrest Creek in 2012 where they built not just a home, but a community. It was there they brought home all four of their babies. Deane stepped into fatherhood like he was born for it—his kids were his world. Ellie was the light of his life, and his “Tricky Ricky” from the very beginning. He beamed with pride when Bennett was born, a son to carry on the Berry name and Deane’s legacy. Vivienne was his constant lap companion for her first four years and his real-life Princess. Lastly, Piper, ever the snuggler, could often be found curled up beside her Dada, soaking in his warmth and making him laugh as he thought she was the funniest human ever.

In the last four years of his life, Deane especially focused on making joyful memories with his family. He and Bennett spent the summer of 2024 working side by side. The family traveled to Disney World, Great Wolf Lodge, and the beach just to name a few. Each trip, a page in this last chapter of Deane’s life.

Jessica never left his side during his six-year journey with cancer. Together, they pursued every avenue—modern medicine and nearly every holistic remedy known to man. Thanks to Jessica’s unwavering devotion and many miracles of God, Deane lived more than twice as long as expected. He defied the odds with grit, faith, and the fierce love of his family!

On Thanksgiving Day, Nov 27th, 2025, Deane was called home while surrounded by family. We are so-deeply blessed to have shared nearly 41 beautiful years with Deano.
