Randy Wayne Palumbo

Randy Wayne Palumbo, lovingly known as “Papa,” passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on September 4, 1958, in Fresno, California, Randy lived a life full of hard work, deep love for his family, and a steadfast commitment to those around him.

Randy was the beloved son of Rev. Frank Palumbo Sr. and Jerlene Palumbo. He spent much of his life across various parts of California before settling more permanently in Oklahoma in 1992. A proud and dedicated ironworker, Randy began his career with Iron Workers Local Union 155 in Fresno in 1983. In 1992, he transitioned to Iron Workers Local Union 48 in Oklahoma City, where he worked until his retirement in 2023. Throughout his career, he was especially proud of his role as a coordinator for the apprenticeship program, helping to guide and shape the next generation of skilled workers.

On July 19, 1980, Randy married the love of his life, Dee Palumbo. Together they built a strong, loving family and shared over four decades of life’s journey.

Randy is preceded in death by his beloved son, Randy Wayne Palumbo Jr., and his father, Rev. Frank Palumbo Sr.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dee Palumbo; his mother, Jerlene Palumbo; his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Eric Byrom; and his cherished grandchildren, Cheyenne Byrom, Paisley Byrom, and Wyatt Byrom. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Lisa Palumbo, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss his humor, strength, and generous spirit.

Randy will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, his love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind in the many lives he touched.
