Orville Wilbur McKinney was born in Tuttle, OK on November 10th,1940 to Wessie and Mamie McKinney and he entered his heavenly home on July 26th, 2026. Orville was the middle child of three. There seemed to be nothing that Orville didn’t dabble in his school years. He participated in basketball, football, track and field, Junior year school play, and was even the F.F.A president during high school . Orville had even won an award for perfect attendance from kindergarten through twelfth grade. 

Orville was a proud member of the Air National Guard. His service took him to Puerto Rico and even the Panama Canal. The trade classes that he took during his service helped train him for his professional careers throughout his life including; Sun Oil, where he was an oil field foreman; and his time as CEO of Seals, Pumps and Packing. Throughout his life, Orville participated in many different jobs. His last profession was as a driver for the car dealership Ferguson in Norman, OK. Orville’s personality shone brightly in this role, where his “never knew a stranger” mentality was utilized by meeting and driving customers while they were having their cars maintained. 

During his high school years he met and married Nancy Cruzan. With their desire to start and raise a family they adopted Lisa. Three years later, they were asked to adopt another little girl, Lorie. Prayerfully, they accepted and with love and faithful devotion raised two strong and independent women, of whom, Orville was very proud. 

Orville’s job with Sun Oil led him and his family to many different locations including; Moore, Purcell, Tonkawa, and finally settled in Newcastle, OK where they planted roots.

After the end of his first marriage, Orville was blessed to meet Rosemary Hutto in 1991. Through their mutual love of God, travel, and sense of adventure they got married and moved to start a life in Denver, CO. After some years, they moved back and settled in south Oklahoma City where Orville began his business Seals, Pumps and Packing. He also worked in Real Estate.

Orville was a man of strong faith in God, which was presented through his love of people. He was a longtime member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle, OK. Throughout his life and different churches he was involved in, Orville served many different roles in his church life including but not limited to; Royal Rangers leader (young men’s ministries), role of deacon, Angel Food Ministries volunteer (for families in need), Sunday School Superintendent, and even VBS volunteer where he was able to cultivate his love of children. 

Family was an important facet of Orville’s life. He utilized his love of people as a gift to make any person or friend around him feel as though they were a part of his own family.

Orville had many hobbies in his life. He loved model cars, getting lost on roadtrips, OU football, History (especially WWII), and making someone he just met a best friend.

Towards the last part of his life, Orville became the sole caretaker for his wife Rosemary who had had a debilitating stroke. He lovingly cared for her and even found a way to continue their love of road trips with a specialty van.

Orville is preceded in death by his parents Wessie and Mamie McKinney, his sister Ruth Williams and most recently, his wife Rosemary McKinney. 

As a loving husband, father, and Poppy, Orville leaves a legacy in his surviving daughters Lisa (Kevin) McClain of South Weber Utah, and Lorie (Nathan) Hill of Hennesey, OK. Orville is also survived by his bonus son Charles West of Tuttle, OK. 

Orville leaves a legacy in his surviving grandchildren Justin McClain, Ashley (Mike) Fergus, Tyler (Alison) Hill, Jordan (Justin) Burns, Levi Hill and his significant other Emily Jarolim, Josh McClain, Tristan Hill and his spouse Austin Hoffhines, Rance West, Kirsten West, Noah McClain, Micah McClain, and his significant other James Holt, six great-grandchildren and his sister Vesta McKinney Moore of Norman, OK. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends whom he dearly loved. 

Orville’s life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of faith in God, and the importance of family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
