Nicole Javon Wolski Sanders, 41, passed away at home in Tuttle on June 8, 2021, following a long illness. Nicole was born on February 14, 1980 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Gregory Wolski and Paula Cox. Nicole was raised by her mother and attended school in Tuttle where she was successful both in academics and athletics. She played softball from a young age and developed a true passion for the sport. Nicole loved living next door to her grandparents and had a special connection with her Pa. As a member of the Tuttle Lady Tigers softball team, she played first base and outfield. Nicole along with her team earned the soft ball state champion title all four years of her high school career. She also earned recognition as an All State softball player as a senior. Nicole was known by her classmates as the class clown with her sense of humor and smile. Nicole also played basketball throughout her school years and was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger. Nicole graduated with honors from Tuttle High School in 1998 and went on to play softball at NEO A&M. At the peak of her college softball career Nicole played in the Junior College World Series in Orlando, FL where she hit two homeruns. She went on to earn her Associates Degree in nursing from Oklahoma City Community College and looked forward to beginning her nursing career. A true caregiver at heart, she found true purpose in working as a registered nurse at OU Medical Center in the trauma unit, Integris Baptist Hosptial as well as a traveling nurse around the metro. It turned out for Nicole that working as a nurse wasn't defined with a license or a job title, it was her greatest joy to care for others including people she didn't know. If she saw someone in need, she simply couldn't resist helping them. Nicole was known to be followed by a drama index of sorts. She pulled up on many severe accidents where she offered support and even found a memory care patient who was lost along the road and she stayed with him until he was safe and sound. Nicole married Jeremy Sanders on August 12, 2000 and from that union had their son Jaxon and daughter Kylee. She found great purpose in the idea of being a mother so much so that they took in foster children with special needs. Nicole had battled various health issues since a young age and eventually the effects of a life long battle took a tole on her. She was fortunate to have her children's father and her family to step in where she was not able and carry out what they knew she would have wanted.
Nicole is survived by her mother Paula Cox, son Jaxon Sanders; daughter Kylee Sanders; siblings Natasha Jenks and husband Kevin, Natalie Cannon and husband Chad and Jared Glass; grandmother Martha Cox and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Nicole is preceded in death by her father Gregory Wolski and "Pa" Brooks Cox.
