Michael Doran Dixon, age 54, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Michael was born September 16, 1968 in Cordell, Oklahoma, the only son of Patricia Doran and Larry Dixon joining sister Lauri. Michael was raised in Cordell where he played percussion in the marching and jazz bands, showed livestock in the FFA, and was voted Mr. and Miss Congeniality along with classmate Stephanie Gray. Michael graduated Cordell High School with the class of 1987.
Michael married Lori Thompson in 1994 and from that union was blessed with two daughters, Carlee and Allie. He was very proud of his daughters, their accomplishments, and the lives they have built for themselves. Carlee earned her CMA license and is happily married living in Elk City, Oklahoma with her husband Ethan. Allie is pursuing a career in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences.
Michael started working for UPS in high school which led to a twenty year career with the company. He went on to earn his plumbing license, later owning and operating his own business. His passion and love for animals led him to own and operate Earthwise Pet, a nutrition and wellness spa in Nichols Hills.
Michael married Kevin Moore and the two found the love and acceptance they had been looking for. They enjoyed their many opportunities to travel and see the world. One trip that was especially memorable was their vacation to Iceland. They shared a love for their pets and spending time with children and grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his daughter Carlee Schmittler and husband Ethan; daughter Allie Dixon and boyfriend Gavin Chadwick; father Larry Dixon, sister Lauri Dixon, and a host of extended family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Kay Doran who passed March 18, 2023, maternal grandparents LaVerna and Lefty Doran, and paternal grandparents Thelma and Joe Dixon.
