Eleanor “JOY” Kettler was born March 22nd, 1941 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Jesse Barney Locke and Mabel Marie (Myers) Locke. She went peacefully with the lord surrounded by her family at her home on September 27, 2024. She graduated from Minco High School in 1959 where she was part of the pep club & football games athletics. She attended OCCC where she received her Accounting degree in the late 70s. She was a founding member of the United Methodist Church of Tuttle and a member of the United Methodist Women’s association. She was also a member of the Silver City Antique Tractor Club and Fairview Cemetery board. Joy worked at the Bank of Tuttle & various other jobs while raising her children. In 1982 she started her own accounting business which grew to become Kettler Tax & Accounting. She retired in 2017 passing the legacy to her daughter who now operates the business. She was very involved in genealogy, not only her own family but her community, traveling to find any and every headstone/information to put into record. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting, sewing and traveling. Especially lake trips and time with her family and friends.
Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband Vernon Theodore Kettler, her parents Jesse & Mabel Locke, son Burl Kettler, granddaughter Taylor Streber ,7 siblings Allan A. Locke, Patricia (Locke) & Don Chism, Gerald B Locke, Benny Loy Locke, Dean (Lavoise) & Kelly Locke, Willie (Caroll Lee) & Sue Locke, Linda (Locke) Taylor.
She is survived by her son Jesse Kettler and wife Jackie of Tuttle, daughters Rhena Reynolds and husband Michael of Newcastle and Kathy Kettler Streber of Tuttle. Grandchildren Athena Dunbar and husband Jim of Minco, Kimberly Knight and husband Jimmy of Tuttle, Tyler Collins and wife Katie of Moore, Bryce Collins of Oklahoma City, Gage Streber & Grace Lee of Tuttle, Dallas Burrows of Tuttle, great grandchildren Kaitlyn Kettler, Kenslei Streber, Blakely Kuhlman, Ryker Dale Streber & Theodore (Teddy) James Streber all of Tuttle and a host of cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. Joy was not only a mother of four children but also treated close friends and family as her own children.
