Carol Ann Lindsey-Zike, age 83, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Saturday, February 3, 2024 in Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Carol was born August 31, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a daughter of Mary Helen and Raymond Buntin. She was raised alongside her younger brother Allen in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Harding High School with the class of 1958. She went on to attend Oklahoma State University and remained an avid Pokes fan the rest of her life.
Carol met James "Jim" Gerald Lindsey and the were married on November 10, 1960 in Oklahoma City. As a couple, they worked together in many capacities and enjoyed traveling, camping at Lake Texoma's Catfish Bay; and spending time at their house on Lake Chickasha. She also enjoyed volunteering alongside Jim for the India Shrine Temple working with sick and injured children. They were blessed with their only daughter Mary Carol in 1963. Carol was a meticulous house keeper, loved to bake, and enjoyed making clothes for her daughter. Her grandchildren Sarah and Josh lovingly called her "Granny" and were her world. She passed down her love of baking, sewing, quilting and traveling with Sarah. She enjoyed fishing with Josh, taught him to have strong work ethic, and they enjoyed a special trip deep sea fishing. She was also a proud Great Granny to Madelyn and McKenzie. As soon as they could walk, she had them working in the yard, baked brownies, and colored with them.
Carol was always known for her beautiful lawn, flower beds, and vegetable gardens. She vacuumed the floors every day and was happiest with a tidy home. Her husband Jim gave her the title of "Vacuum Queen" in appreciation of her daily cleaning efforts. She loved traveling to Colorado, Alaska, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. She was happiest sight seeing, shopping, and seeing as much of the world as possible. Carol was artistic and made beautiful stained glass pieces for family and friends.
Carol was raised Christian and enjoyed working in children's church and bus ministry. She received Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age and instilled the importance of faith and salvation in her family. What was most important to Carol was everyone find salvation through Jesus Christ.
