In Loving Memory of Brian Lee Dronberger
Brian Lee Dronberger, 69, of Bridge Creek, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Tribute Memorial Care Southwest. Interment will follow at Newcastle Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Tribute Memorial Care Southwest.
Brian was born on June 14, 1956, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Robert Jay and Gladys Marie (Barrett) Dronberger. He was one of three brothers, and the bond they shared exploring the countryside on dirt bikes helped shape Brian’s adventurous nature and his determination to embrace life wholeheartedly.
During his childhood, Brian’s family lived in Cashion, Oklahoma City, and eventually Norman, where he graduated from Norman High School. Those who knew Brian understood that he had a remarkable ability to figure out how things worked and, more importantly, how to make them work better.
That natural talent led him to a successful career as a diesel mechanic. Brian met lifelong friend, David Roy at vo-tech and they partnered to create Truck Repair Incorporated in Oklahoma City. Over the years, he built not only a respected business but also lasting relationships with loyal customers who appreciated his skill, honesty, and unwavering work ethic.
On March 8, 1980, Brian married the love of his life, Vicki Jo Griffin, at Southern Oaks Free Will Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and enduring love. Their marriage was a testament to commitment and partnership, and they shared more than four decades of cherished memories.
Brian had a deep love for racing that began in 1978 and quickly became one of his greatest passions. Driving his iconic No. 78 race car, he thrilled fans at dirt tracks across Oklahoma. Racing was made even more meaningful through his close friendship with Jim Boggs, who worked tirelessly alongside him and shared countless victories and memories.
Brian had a strong devotion to God and spent several decades dedicated to serving in the church. He was blessed with an extraordinary singing voice and a heart devoted to worship. He served as music director at Mount Gilead Church and was frequently requested to sing solos. Brian’s voice and faith touched countless lives and brought comfort and inspiration to all who heard him.
Brian loved taking the family camping and exploring the lake on the pontoon boat. Brian also enjoyed RC airplanes, a hobby that later evolved into his fascination with flying drones.
In 2008, Brian’s life changed dramatically after a car accident left him a quadriplegic. While this challenge altered the course of his life, it never diminished his spirit. Brian continued to approach each day with determination, humor, and creativity. From his desk, he kept tinkering, fixing, and solving problems, doing what he loved most. More importantly, he continued to fill his home with laughter and his family with love.
Brian will be remembered for his ingenuity, his powerful voice, his competitive spirit, and his unwavering devotion to his family. He had a unique ability to make people smile, to solve almost any problem, and to persevere through life’s greatest challenges with grace and courage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Daniell Dronberger-Stimac; and his brother, Carl Dronberger.
Brian’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him most: his devoted wife, Vicki Dronberger; his daughters, Traci Dronberger-Warner and Erin Dronberger-Thomas and her husband Paul; his son, Preston Dronberger; his grandchildren, Tyler Dronberger, Mackenzie Guffey, Madison Stimac, Bailey Warner, Drake Guffey, Rylie Guffey, and Ashton Warner; nine great-grandchildren, with one more precious blessing on the way; his brother, Mark Dronberger and his wife Nancy; sisters-in-law, Sheryl VanNest and Cathy Wallace; brother-in-law, Randy Griffin; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though Brian’s voice is now silent on earth, his song continues in the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he leaves behind. His strength, faith, and joyful spirit will be treasured forever.
