Billie Lou Hinkle-Bobier

Billie Louise Hinkle-Bobier was born August 03, 1929 to parents Josie Allie Welch Cox and Andrew (Andy) Walter Cox in Camp Wood, Texas. She passed from this life to be with the Lord on September 26, 2021.
In 1940 at the age of nine, she moved to Tuttle (3 miles East , 2 miles North) with her parents and little brother Dub, leaving her sister Florence back in Sherwood, Texas.
Billie Lou attended Tuttle Public Schools graduating in 1948. She was proud to be one of Tuttle's first feature twirler's. She attended Hills Business School and worked for Colonial Art Company as a bookkeeper until her marriage to Bill Hinkle on September 30, 1949. After marriage she and Bill formed and ran a small dairy southwest of Tuttle. They were blessed with their son Alan Eugene and daughter Brenda Elaine.
In 1964 she became an employee at Tuttle Schools under Superintendent Flake Todd. She retired in 1991. They continued farming and Bill working at Tuttle Schools until his death in July, 2000. Billie Lou loved being involved in the community. She served as President of the FFA Mothers Club, President of WMU, President of the Tuttle Fair Board, founded the Miss Tuttle, Northern District and Grady County Fair Princess pageants, was 4-H leader for many years, volunteered with the American Legion Auxiliary and as a result was named Tuttle Citizen of the Year.
She was married to Joe Bobier on December 28, 2002 until his death January 27, 2008. She was a woman who invested her time, effort and finances into developing others through her leadership work. She had a special place for children and youth and found fulfillment serving at Tuttle First Baptist Church at Vacation Bible School and as a Sunday School teacher.
Billie Lou is preceded in death by her parents Andy and Josie Cox; Grandson Justin Hinkle; husband Bill Hinkle; husband Joe Bobier; in laws Virgil and Alice Hinkle; sister and brother in law Florence and Jr. White; brother Dub Cox; sister-in-law Beverly Williams; and grandson Landon Erin Schleis.
She is survived by her son Alan Hinkle and wife Roberta; daughter Brenda Sweeney and husband Steve; granddaughter Tracie Drake and Chelsie; granddaughter Stacie Schleis and Jason; granddaughter Chandra Stanfield and Shane; granddaughter Challie Sweeney and Taylor Gossett; grandson Jeffrey Jackson; grandson Jacob Hinkle; four great-grandchildren Emery, Logan, Haylie, Hunter, Layne and Lily.
