Betty Carol Ayers

December 25, 1940 — January 9, 2024

Betty Carol Ayers, a cherished soul, departed from this world on January 9th, 2024, at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 25th, 1940, to Sam and Pauline Dawes in Poteau, Oklahoma, Betty's roots were firmly planted in the heartland. She spent her formative years in eastern Oklahoma before her family relocated to Oklahoma City when she was 10 years old. It was in the bustling city that Betty attended school, forged enduring friendships that spanned a lifetime, and began building the foundation of a remarkable life.

In 1959, Betty entered into a loving union with John Fred Ayers, a partnership that endured for an impressive 64 years until her passing.

For over five decades, Betty was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Tuttle. Her faith was not just a part of her life; it was the guiding force that led her to actively participate in leading bible studies, singing in the choir, and embodying the teachings of Jesus as a faithful follower.

Betty was a beacon of love and selflessness in the lives of all who knew her. As a wife, mother, daughter, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. Her life was a testament to the beauty of serving others selflessly, setting an example that resonated with everyone she encountered.

Beyond her roles within the family, Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her passion for baking, cooking, and hosting family gatherings during holidays and meals was a source of happiness for all who shared those moments with her.

Betty Ayers will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known her as a genuinely kind and generous soul. To all who mourn her passing, we share in the sense of loss, yet hold deep gratitude for the precious time we were privileged to spend with her. In honoring her memory, let us carry forward the legacy of love, service, and kindness that Betty so beautifully exemplified throughout her life.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Pauline Dawes, and her cousin Sou Morse.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband, John Ayers; her two sons, Curtis Ayers and Christopher Ayers; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her cousin Carolyn Becker.
