Daniel Roger Smelser

Daniel Smelser, 66, passed away peacefully at home following a long term battle with cancer on February 21, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Dan was born on September 26, 1955 in Portland, OR, to Roger Smelser and Louise Smelser. He was raised in Portland where he attended grade school through high school. He was involved in swimming and wrestling and graduated from Milwaukie High School with the class of 1973. Following high school graduation, he moved to Southern California to pursue God's calling. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1978 and founded the family business Super Clean Carwash with his father and brother. Dan was blessed with his first son Phillip in 1981.
Dan was best known for fishing and his love for wrestling. He was a man who loved people and people loved him.
Daniel married Aurora Esparza June 11, 1991 in Oklahoma City, OK and they were blessed with two children Joshua Daniel and Karen Louise.
He was a man of faith who loved serving the Lord. He was involved in various ministries throughout his lifetime. Fellowship with other believers was one of his favorite things. He was known for visiting with every table during monthly potlucks and thoroughly enjoyed the food prepared by all of the members.
Daniel is survived by his parents Louise and Roger Smelser; wife Aurora Smelser; son Philip Smelser and wife Ayumi; son Joshua Smelser; daughter Karen Smelser; brother Loren Smelser and wife Amanda; sister Ruth Devries and sister Brenda Fuchs and husband Greg
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 11 am - 1 pm at Southern Hills Baptist Church with burial following at 2 pm at Heritage Burial Park at South Lakes.
A Memorial Service and Love Feast will be held 11:15 am Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Church in Oklahoma City.
